Greta's Noggin: Diagnosis

We met with Dr. O'Donnell yesterday. Thankfully, the fluid in the back of her head is NOT anything to worry about. Apparently as she grows, it is possible for the connective tissue and fascia to separate---then, fluid (lymph, cerebral) can accumulate and cause a bulge. It is all a part of the healing process. We are to massage the bulge, in an effort to help force out some of the fluid back into the lymph system to be reabsorbed. I feel so much better!

As for me with my neuro visit, it wasn't such a happy occasion. I need an MRI and CAT scan of my lower spine/pelvis to rule out any anatomical problems that would be causing my bladder issues. (Too much information?) So, I have to have those tests done in the next two weeks, then a urodynamic study---hopefully by then, I can get an accurate diagnosis of why I'm continuing to have problems. In a nutshell, I should have had a C-section. (For those readers who aren't aware of my situation, here is the long and short: After Greta's delivery, I immediately starting having bladder issues. I had a catheter for 7 days in an effort to relieve some "stress" on the bladder, though it did not resolve my lack of feeling/inability to stop voiding when it starts. SO, going out in public/exercise is very stressful for me. It has improved slightly with physical therapy once a week and seeing two specialists.)

  1. WONDERFUL news about Greta's health!!!! I was alarmed to read about the problems you are still having, though. Adrienne said it was a traumatic birth and it really must have been..... thinking about you!
