I have a confession. My little unicorn has been sleeping in her sleeper bucket since she came home from the hospital. This is not her crib. The word on the street is that she needs to be in her crib by four months. I don't want her to sleep in her crib.....it is in the OTHER room.....away from me......where I can't hear her little puppy noises at night.....what do I do?

  1. You may remember I had a breakdown over this when Jack was 4 months old and my pediatrician gave me the side-eye when I revealed that he still slept in our room (in a bassinet). I weaned myself over a span of a few weeks - Jack, on the other hand, was perfectly happy sleeping in his crib. Good luck!

  2. Trust me... you will hear the puppy noises. Plus, you can always do a "campout" and sleeping bag it on the floor in her room. Then when the pediatrician asks if she is in her crib/room, you won't be lying when you say yes!

  3. You do what you want and say screw you doc, she's my kid. Marley slept in our room until 5.5 months because I didn't want to move her. They're only little once, take as long as you need. She was in Pack 'N Play raised up to the bassinet height next to our bed...maybe you could try that before the full out crib move?

  4. You do what works for you. Graham (who will be two in November) is still in our room. He's in a crib, but it is in our room. Granted, that's because we're bursting at the seams in our little house, but he's not suffering because of it.

  5. Don't doubt the power of your baby-radar: you'll hear Greta, wherever she is in your house. I think it comes as part of the whole pregnancy/birth package.
